"My generation was told to go to college and get a job. Today, I tell students to go to college and create a job." - Lee T. Todd, Jr.
Many consider Lee T. Todd, Jr. to be the father of Kentucky's high-tech economy. The founder of two technological companies - Projectron and DataBeam, both based in Lexington - Dr. Todd would later become UK's 11th President and champion the need to develop new economic opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.
UK CAER's Lee T. Todd, Jr. Student Innovation Award will help train the next generation of energy entrepreneurs. Through hands-on training, a research apprenticeship and entrepreneurial coaching, the program will allow UK undergraduate scholars to test their innovation and help advance their ideas to the marketplace.
