Support the Salvation Army Homeless Clinic

The UK Salvation Army Clinic (UKSAC) has come a long way since it was founded in 1986 as a partnership between the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and Salvation Army of Central Kentucky. The mission of UKSAC is to assume a leadership role in providing the health and well-being of the uninsured adult population in Lexington by providing free medical services and increasing awareness of local health care resources. The student-run clinic is a valuable resource for the Lexington community because it provides a mutually beneficial opportunity for students – many of Kentucky's future doctors – to gain hands-on learning experience working directly with patients and practicing physicians, while also providing in-need adults with access to free health care.

In addition to offering primary care, the UKSAC also provides access to a nutrition clinic that offers healthy eating coaching, a smoking cessation support group that helps smokers quit smoking, and a pediatric care program that is currently in development that will help children get primary care.

Students at the UKSAC are doing their part to reach those in the community who are in need of good health care, but they need your help to make sure they are able to continue this vital service. A gift to the UKSAC will help fund the essential materials the students need to provide the best possible care for their patients.

You can support the Salvation Army Homeless Clinic on this page. If you'd like to give to another fund that is not listed, please use the search box in the upper right of this page and type in the desired fund to make your gift. We are grateful for your support!
