Support the Ovarian Cancer Screening Project Fund

According to the American Cancer Society, ovarian cancer ranks fifth in cancer deaths among women. Early detection is vital to surviving ovarian cancer. That's why the UK Markey Cancer Center Ovarian Screening Program was started in 1987. The program offers free annual ovarian cancer screenings for postmenopausal women who are over the age of 50 or over the age of 25 with a documented family history of ovarian cancer. This program extends throughout Kentucky, as we provide ovarian screenings in Lexington, Elizabethtown, Somerset, Prestonsburg, Maysville, Paducah, and Greenup. Research at the University of Kentucky Ovarian Cancer Screening Program indicates that the survival rate of women in the program whose ovarian cancer was detected by screening is significantly higher than that of women from the same geographic area who received the same treatment but who did not have a screening. Help provide screenings for a fellow mother, daughter, sister, or friend – screenings that could in fact, save her life.
