Support the Student Ad Team Fund!

Every Spring semester, top Integrated Strategic Communication (ISC) majors are hand-picked to be members of the Wildcat ISC Competition Team. This select group of students participates in the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF).

Each year, more than 130 schools participate in the AAF's NSAC, beginning with competition in one of 15 districts. Each team creates a comprehensive campaign for the sponsor, based on a real-world marketing challenge the sponsor presents in a case study. Students must research the product and its competition, identify potential problem areas, devise a unique strategy, and create a completely integrated campaign for the client.

Each student team then pitches its campaign to a panel of judges composed of professionals in the advertising, marketing and communications industry. The student team that wins its district moves on to a semi-finals round. Then, the top 8 teams advance to the national competition where both the client and their advertising agency act as judges.

UK has a strong history of successful participation in the NSAC. Most recently, the 2017 team placed 7th in the nation and earned the Best Plans Book Award sponsor by Simmons Market Research, and the 2016 team placed 13th in the nation. We are incredibly proud of how well our hard working, dedicated ISC students represent our ISC department, our college and our university.

But, success isn't free. To continue competing at the most elite level, the UK Competition Team needs your support. Funds help students conduct primary research, mock-up creative executions and travel to district and/or national competitions. For example, in the past, contributions from this fund were used to cover travel costs to the 2017 NSAC nationals, allowing the entire team to be on hand to support crucial aspects of the on-site competition in New Orleans.

You can support the Wildcat ISC Competition Team by making a gift to the Student Ad Team Fund today!.
